GAG: One clown standing in front of 1-5 other clowns (who each applaud wildly with each statement that the presenting clown makes) The clown is holding up a sheet with 'Bush Economic Recovery' written on it, then starts to rant "We are experiencing economic recovery! We give the rich people a huge tax cut, they spend that money to make themselves even more money, and with that spending the entire economy is raised up, so that soon everyone is flying high!" He starts to float up magically and float away. Another clown steps on the cloth (inadvertently) and as the floating clown move away the cloth falls down, exposing the floating clown to be standing on the ground, with his hands holding up a pair of broomsticks with shoes on the end.
The other clown: "Whoooh hooo! -- Yeah! Everyone flying!" - Doesn't notice the exposure of how the trick is done,, instead he is caught in his clown exitement of everyone flying around.
PROPS: Sheet with diagonally written: Bush's Economic Recovery Shoes on sticks. A mirror to practice in. Velcro to hold the cloth temporarily to the costume, at the right places. The shoes and sticks can also have hooks, so that they attach to the belt line of the clowns pants, and can't be seen as he walks up holding the sheet in front of him
TIPS: Practice this in a mirror. Get an honest friend to watch, and tell you when it doesn't work, and when it does. The angles of sight are important. It can also be done, simpler, by the clown just floating into view already in position behind the cloth. Adjust the storyline. Also possible, the clown can turn around to 'accidentally' expose the way it's done rather than the sheet pulling off.
