$$ Give & let a million clowns be your reward

100% of current donations go towards the hard expenses of The Million Clown March

GAG:

A clown wearing a huge 'W', approaches stranger: "I'm with George W.- and we want to give you this."  Holding out a nice a flower. As they take the stem of the flower the clown leaves with the bud of the flower (now the person is holding an empty stem).

-- An  assistant (either clown or non-clown) immediately approaches the same person , "Don't  believe what those 'W' clowns are telling us!"  (grabs back stem from stranger)

PROPS:

Flower, with stem broken at 1/4" from the bud of the flower.

Extra flowers, and stems.

Large 'W' Button, or letter, or letter sweater.

Roses work nicely for this, but any flower will work.

Tips:

Hold the flower and stem together at the break between your first finger and thumb. In this position, if it's done properly it looks like a normal whole flower.  Treat it in your mind as a whole flower, and let your hand be NATURAL, or it will look wrong.

If you are going to use a fake flower it has to look SOOO good that you can't tell it from a real one at 6" away.

Stems should have any thorns or sharp edges removed.

Approach someone with the flower held as described, and immediately say "I'm with George W, (pointing at your large 'W' with your free hand) and we want to give you this!"

You can also have a handful of real flowers. This makes it more convincing that you are giving them away.

The person behind can either be in clown make-up or not. It's not important. What is important is the wording on what they say: "Don't believe what those 'W' clowns are telling us!"  as they snatch back the stem for re-use (if they can get it).
